Has anyone else noticed that the more arrogant, manipulative, and mean-spirited someone’s actions are, and the more games they play, the more likely it is that, in reality, that person is really insecure? And that the more kind and gentle natured someone is, the more likely it is that they are confident and comfortable with who they are? Are people really attracted to confidence, or are they attracted to the superficial appearance of confidence? When you’re acting like you have something to prove, you probably still do. So it’s not really that nice people finish last, it’s that they’ve already crossed the finish line, so they’re not even racing.
